Today, I am releasing my first non-fiction book. It’s a short work entitled Starting Right. I wrote it to help you zero in on which of your ideas is most likely to serve as a solid foundation for your creative pursuits. If you are taking stock of your progress over the last year and planning out 2017, you should use this book as a guide to help you. The key points of the book are as follows:
- Creatives can be classified into three different levels – Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3. I detail these three levels in the book, but if you want to ultimately sustain yourself through your creative efforts, you must achieve Level 3.
- Not all ideas are equally suitable for serving as a foundation for reaching Level 3. Working on the wrong idea, even if you can successfully execute it, can be a big obstacle to achieving Level 3 success. I identified seven questions you need to ask about your ideas to determine which one will best provide this foundation.
Let me know what you think. I had some very interesting commentary from early readers. I would love to hear your critiques and commentary as well.
